Academic Clinical Nurse Educator Preparation Program

The Academic Clinical Nurse Educator Preparation Program equips beginning academic clinical nursing instructors with the knowledge and skills to confidently and effectively teach pre-licensure nursing students in clinical settings. The program is underpinned by the National League for Nursing (NLN) core competencies for the Academic Clinical Nurse Educator and includes three courses, which should preferably be completed in chronological order.

  • #2. Teaching the Clinical Rotation
  • #3. Simulation in Nursing Education: The Basics
  • Program Conclusion
Each course will take you through several modules, which include video presentations, readings, and online activities. The program can be completed before you begin teaching or while teaching.

Ten (10) hours of CEU credit are available for a fully completed program.

About the Program

PROGRAM TOPICS: Transition to the role, mentoring, teaching and learning, the clinical day, the student evaluation, and simulation. All content is delivered via video lessons, readings, and web activities.

After completing the preparation program, novice clinical nursing faculty will be prepared to facilitate student learning by using newly discovered teaching skills and strategies, feel a part of the teaching team, and find professional fulfillment in the role.
